I got sick this year for the first time in awhile. I wonder if all the smoke from the fires in November contributed.

  2. Tim Flagler says:

I haven't been sick since I went vegan over a year ago. As a result I've maxed out my sick days at work and can't accrue anymore till I use the 40 hours I have.

  3. Conscientious Omnivore says:

Good luck Anji with getting better! I know exactly how you feel about letting people know you are sick. Too many people try to use that as some kind of excuse to not go vegan. It's a completely unreasonable thing of course so don't let the pressure get to you. It's much better to be honest.

I still get sick sometimes (been vegan for over 3 years) but it does seem to me that the severity is lower when I do succumb. I have two kids and it's almost impossible to not get something from them when they are literally coughing and sneezing into your face at times.

  4. Stephen Armour says:

Yes all vegans are sick as they all support child abuse and murder. I say pure evil instead of sick. Vegan child abusing murdering mums who feed there baby's on synthetic man made plant poison all die due to eating synthetic man made plant poison. Not one vegan baby survives. Why are these vegan child abusing murdering mums jailed for murder. Putting a animals before there own flesh and blood. Not I believe in another man made lie the Bible but if there is a hell these vegan child abusing murdering mums will go there. Veganism is a evil religious cult.

i barely get sick, and it feels different now, far less annoying. usually i heat up, feel a bit weak, and next day its over.

Cat's claw, moringa, vitamin d3+k2 in addition to the elderberry will help boost your immune system.

  7. Paula Shear says:

The food you prepared looks delicious. Wishing you speedy healing.

  8. Jocelyn Edmondson says:

That cold thing keeps coming back to my house. Nature's Answers elderberry has been the only thing that has kept us feeling better. So sorry you got sick

  9. SomberHeart84 says:

If you were barfing then you had a stomach virus, not the flu.

  10. SomberHeart84 says:

OMG I love Chase Atlantic! lol

Golden milk….Tumeric and almond milk warm.

  12. Veggie V says:

Stir fry: asparagus, mushrooms, snap peas, bok choy, scallions, summer squash, baby corn, water chestnuts – tossed with coconut aminos and lemon juice and added to rice. Delicious! Make it every week or so.

  13. Molly Martin says:

I love snow peas in my stir fry!

  17. Joseph1NJ says:

So glad to see others using flax meal. Many are adamant you need to ground it fresh. I don't. I do buy organic though.

  18. Elsje Massyn says:

I haven't had the flu since I first became vegetarian and then vegan 2 years ago. All together 7 years.
But I think there is a reason for this that has been adding to my good fortune.
I live and work very secluded. I dont have much interaction with other people but for the odd family visit now and then and visiting the shops once a week, where my husband who is an HR (Human Resources) officer daily interacts with hundreds of people in a work year and he is forever struggling with flu or a short lived odd cold.

I dont think we were designed as humans and earthlings to live and work in such close proximity with hundreds of other human beings as it causes secondary stress and when those people you interact with have viruses or colds/flu your body picks it up and reacts.

This is the same reason for swine flu and avian (bird) flu.
The animals are confined to tiny cages, they endure stress, lack of oxygen etc. etc.

Humans were designed originally for wide spaces and clean air, not to hang around in sick buildings all day working under stress etc.

I dont know what your working circumstances are and with who you guys are inter acting but your husband spends a lot of time in the gym and playing sports with others. There is a contamination process that takes place, especially if the others carry the flu or other viruses, then he comes home and carry it over on to you.

Thats the only thing I have observed that could be the explanation for me and my husband and why he gets flu and colds and I dont although were on the same plant based diet.

  19. wu wei says:

It seems that a Vegan diet does not prevent aging, likely that no diet does. But if it adds more life to your years, then that could be a useful focus, for those interested in having same. On a different note, I have learned to appreciate being sick more as I have gotten older, as it makes me more grateful for my health. This is not a small thing. The contrast of sick to healthy has been very useful to me. Sometimes people can confuse health as a result rather than a practice. There is a preference to celebrate another's well-being, rather than another's misfortune. You and Ryan, and Mic the Vegan, and all of the others have helped me in so many ways. Thank you! Some day I would love to meet you and Ryan. You guys are awesome!
May you be well, and may all be well. Haola! (Qigong for "all is well")

  20. Taro says:

Why are you using padded flat rate for books when Media Mail is 1/3 the price?

  21. michelle castro says:

Hang in there!! I haven't got sick since becoming vegan. At the height of flu season I did get a mild runny nose but nothing more. Just bumped up my veggies rich in zinc, vitamin C.

  22. Siobhan Mulvey says:

Proceeded vegan foods aren’t healthy. Plus if folks run themselves down w activities they can get sick of course!

Everyone has been getting sick. Feel better!!

  23. Paula Shear says:

Eating in restaurants, with food that is not organic, you are getting glyphosate on all
grains that are conventional. As well, wheat is known to be the most inflammatory,
so that's the pizza. As well, the tacos, assuming they are corn, if not organic are
GMO. This is harming the microbiome, as it acts as an anti-biotic, to my knowledge.
So this is weakening the immune system.

  24. Lean Forward says:

17 years vegan and I think I’ve had one cold and it was short lived. I think my answer is no. Glad you’re feeling better sweets.

  25. Chopperdoll says:

    Everyone’s relapsing.

  26. Pony Chaser says:

I don't get nearly as sick as I did when I was eating meat.

  27. Julie Olsen says:

I haven’t made a stir fry in a few months. I’ve been trying to avoid oil so I’ll have to try the water sauté with tamari.

  28. S O N J A says:

Hope you get well soon Anji ❤❤❤
